Chinese New Year 2026: From Hotel Ballrooms to Neighbourhood Shops

Chinese New Year is the heart of the lion dance calendar, and 2026, the Year of the Horse, kept our lions busier than ever.
One highlight: performing in the ballroom of The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, where the drum echoes off the chandeliers and the lions weave between banquet tables. A few days later, the same lions were blessing a neighbourhood kopitiam. That range is exactly what we love about this season. The blessing matters the same everywhere.
To welcome the new year, we also unveiled new lions for 2026: a majestic gold pair and a fresh red lion, colours chosen for prosperity and good fortune.
CNY dates fill up months in advance, and prime slots (the first two days, and 开工 reopening days) go first. If you are planning a CNY performance, get in touch early.
